New possibilities for aisle containment

The aisle containment concept from Pentair has been expanded - the Schroff aisle containments can now be integrated with cabinets of various designs and heights or adapted to accommodate special structural conditions. Using the flexible aisle containment concept, OEM cabinets can also be integrated with ease.

The Pentair universal profile can be used to quickly implement completely free-standing aisle containments or aisle containments consisting of only one cabinet row and also systems of various aisle widths. Air management, the consistent separation of cold and warm air in the data centre, has now become the preferred method in optimising efficiency and energy. Furthermore, Pentair is actively involved in an IEC standards committee focusing on the standardisation of aisle containments. Here, focus is not only placed on physical dimensions, but increasingly on the quality of the separation as well.

Standardisation in this area is important for the compatibility of various products. Aisle containments should still be designed with enough flexibility in mind so that customised requirements can be easily implemented. The Pentair product portfolio contains standardised Schroff aisle containment components that make it possible to easily plan and quickly implement complete aisle containments, as well as allow flexibility for special customer requests.

An example is the 1,200mm aisle width, which is now common on the market and corresponds to the width of two double base plates. Generally, it provides sufficient freedom of movement for installing equipment and supplying air through the double base plates. Using the flexible Pentair aisle containment system, the aisle width can be individually adapted - 1,400mm or 1,800mm. Aisle widths of up to 2,400mm have already been implemented in customer projects.
