Heatsinks provide modular cooling options

Following the launch of their C40 heatsink designed to accommodate a 40mm fan, Ohmite have received numerous requests from designers to provide a larger option for mounting up to six TO-247 and/or TO-264 devices, plus larger components. The B60/C60 heatsink does this, but it also goes one step further.

Using the much larger surface available for component mounting, Ohmite offer two different versions: the C60 heatsink is 75mm long (like the C40) with a channel to hold the camming clips and is designed to secure TO-247 and TO-264 style devices without the need for holes or screws; and the B60 heatsink offers an ample mounting surface for a variety of larger components, such as Ohmite’s WFH90 series, 850 series, or TGH series SOT-227 packages. Used in pairs, the heatsinks feature mounting holes to accommodate a standard 60x60mm fan.

In order to create a mounting surface where a variety of power resistors can be mounted with screws, Ohmite have cleared out the channel for the clips and removed some fins on the component side of the B60. Both the B60 and C60 heatsinks feature thermal management levels designed to cope with a number of heat generating applications such as high intensity discharge lighting.

Heatsinks and clips can be purchased individually, or designers can opt for Ohmite to assemble a full system with customer-specified components, or request custom lengths to mount even more devices.
