Electrical and electronic equipment such as inverter drives and soft starters often need to be installed into a ventilated enclosure. In order to avoid contamination the air has to be filtered as it enters the cabinet. Axair Fans offers the solution in the form of the ‘FPF’ fan/filter units.
The long established unit range provides protection against ingress of dust and water droplets. It can also shield against EMC/RFI emissions where needed.

Amongst many optional features are the enhancement to IP55 dust and hosed water standard. The units are colour RAL 7035 (light grey) as standard, however further colour options available upon request are RAL 7032 (pebble grey) and the new RAL 9005, (jet black) which can be used on darker enclosure casings.

The fan/filter unit range which has proven success incorporates excellent design features including rapid ‘click-fit’ chevron louvred panels which enable easy attachment to enclosures. These are available from 105mm to 325mm square, the largest unit being designed to filter air at a rate of 650cum/h. Even greater performances are available by combining high-powered fans with standard filter packs.

In a standard fan/filter unit the fan sucks air into an enclosure, first through the louvre, then through the filter. Warmed air then exits through a filtered louvre, generally of the same dimensions as the inlet but larger if necessary to improve the flow rate. Units can also be specified for reversed flow mode, so that warmed air exits through the fan/filter to optimise cooling effect.

The ‘FPF’ range from Axair is also available in a choice of AC or DC standard voltages.
