Alpha Micro has announced the availability of the Lantronix xPico 110 wired device server module. The xPico 110 is a compact, easy-to-integrate Ethernet networking module for embedded and industrial applications. Designed for quick integration with minimal engineering effort, the xPico 110 features a complete TCP/IP stack with web server and networking services. Its TruPort Serial technology, along with hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption, provides secure serial data communication.

Its compact 18x31mm footprint makes it easy to integrate into virtually any industrial design. “With a focus on ease of integration and its full-featured TCP/IP stack, the xPico 110 is an extremely easy way to add wired networking to an existing design,” noted Tim Bonnett, Director at Alpha Micro Components. “The xPico 110’s TruPort technology and integrated software stack enables designers to easily integrate legacy devices into today’s industrial networks, without having to write a single line of code.”

Get Connected Fast

The xPico 110 has two UART interfaces, one of which can be used to easily connected to virtually any 8-, 16- or 32-bit microcontroller unit (MCU). The on board, secure TCP/IP stack helps simplify application firmware design and improves security and reliability. The integrated web server and network services provide a rich range of connectivity features. In addition, 8 GPIO pins are available to be programmed by the user.

Secure Data Communications

Using Lantronix TruPort technology, the xPico 110 supports hundreds of fieldbus protocols, including Modbus. Serial data for industrial applications can be passed through the network transparently and reliably. Onboard NIST-certified 256-bit AES encryption provides secure network communications.

Compact Industrial Design

With a compact 18x31mm surface-mount technology (SMT) form factor, the xPico 110 is truly compact and easy to design into some of the most space-constrained industrial applications. An on-module PHY helps simplify connector integration. Specifically designed for industrial environments, the xPico operates from -40°C to 85°C and comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty.
