Adding to the Qseven family, congatec has announced the conga-QA4 module. The module features the latest Intel Pentium and Celeron processors based on 14nm technology. It has Intel Gen8 graphics with up to 16GEUs (Graphics Execution Units) and 4K (3840x2160px) resolution.

There are three processor versions availiable for scalability, from the dual-core Intel Celeron N3050 with 1.6/2.08GHz to the quad-core Intel Pentium N3700 with 1.6/2.4GHz. Each has a power consumption of 4W. With the introduction of the latest module, all Qseven applications can now be upgraded to the latest 14nm processor technology quickly and easily, according to the company.

It is equipped with up to 8GB dual channel DDR3L memory and up to 64GB eMMC 5.0 for mass storage. The integrated Intel Gen8 graphics supports DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.2 and OpenCL 1.2. It is possible to stream 4K videos in real time with the hardware-accelerated video decoding of H.265/HEVC, which requires a 50% lower data rate compared to H.264/AVC.

Up to 4K (3840x2160px) resolution is supported by either DisplayPort or HDMI interfaces. The module has a default 24bit LVDS interface. The Qseven specification includes an optional pinout which replaces the LVDS interface with two sets of Embedded DisplayPort signals. This allows three independent displays to be operated.

A standard MIPI-CSI-2 camera interface uses a connector, conforming to the Qseven SGET 2.0 specification, which can support up to two MIPI HD cameras. The main advantage of MIPI-CSI-2 lies in the low price of camera modules supporting the interface.

The module can be used for retail, digital signage and medical applications, as well as retail monitoring tasks, security features such as occupancy or collision detection, authentication and access control, person and face recognition, optical measuring and counting, assistance systems, intelligent lighting systems, webcam and intercom functions.

Six USB 2.0 ports are provided, one of which is executed as USB 3.0 SuperSpeed, providing fast data transmission despite low power draw.

There are three PCI Express 2.0 lanes and two SATA 3.0 ports with up to 6Gb/s, together with an Intel I211 GB Ethernet Controller, I2C bus, LPC bus and Intel HD Audio with an eight-channel sound card.
