Fujitsu has announced the µATX boards of the Classic Desktop series and two boards with longer availability. All boards are equipped with the 100 series chipset from Intel, which supports the 6th Generation Intel Core processors. For the first time they support DDR4 memory. This brings a significant increase in performance. The Intel chipsets enable the use of the new generation’s more powerful CPUs while reducing power consumption.

The entry model D3400-B with the Intel H110 chipset is suitable for low-cost desktop PCs with basic functionality, while using a maximum of two independent displays. The D3410-B is also designed as an entry for low-cost systems and features a wider range of functions compared to the D3400-B. It supports, for example, three independent digital displays and is suitable for continuous use in a 24/7-operation. Both boards have two DIMM sockets for DDR4 RAM up to 32GB. They can be used with 6th Generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors or the Future Intel Pentium/Celeron Processor Series. Both boards support processors up to 65W TDP. The mainboards have at least three PCIe interfaces, multichannel audio functionality and a Gigabit network controller. Both boards offer several USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports for front and rear connectivity. Since the native VGA support isn’t continued at Intel's 100 series chipset, Fujitsu offers its customers proprietary adapter plug-in cards if required.

For customers with the need for manageability and an extended range of functions, Fujitsu offers from October onwards the D3401-B and the D3402-B. In addition to the standard manageability functionality of the D3401-B, the D3402-B comes with extended comfort with out-of-band manageability. The mainboard supports up to 64GB of memory. The Fujitsu D3402-B also features a multi-level watchdog function. For workstations, servers, semi-industrial applications and for the use of powerful XEON CPUs Fujitsu also offers the D3417-B with the Intel C236 chipset. In regard to memory the boards also supports ECC. It allows to determine faulty transmissions of data and to correct it on its own. The D3402-B and the D3417-B are both products of the Extended Lifecycle series and have an assured extended availability of three years.

Another new feature of the 6th Generation Intel Core processor family is the support of M.2 connection. There are new SSDs, similar to the m-SATA technology but with a smaller form factor, which are placed directly on the motherboard over SATA. As a result, a 2.5 '' bay and the extra wiring for power supply and data lines omitted. The connector is available on the D3401-B, the D3402-B and D3417-B. In addition, a proprietary PCIe plug-in card for VGA support is available for these models. To meet the needs of semi-industrial customers, the D3402-B as well as the D3417-B receive a product safety certification on the basis of 60 950 standards. Furthermore, a stable operation from the first production delivery is assured through extensive testing and long-term tests of 7000 hours average area during development.
