A CPU card, aimed to meet the high-performance requirements of demanding applications, has been released by IBASE Technology. The IB980, which is a PICMG 1.3 card, utilises the Intel Q87 chipset to support the 4th Generation Intel Core processors. To cost effectively enhance visual experiences, the processor integrates Intel HD Graphics, which provides lower latencies.

Featuring two DDR3-1600 long DIMM slots, the card provides 16GB of system memory. A variety of I/O configurations are also offered, including four serial ports (jumperless selection on COM1 for RS232/422/485), four SATA III, four USB 3.0 and up to five USB 2.0 ports.

The IB980 CPU card also provides dual Gigabit Ethernet, digital I/O, iAMT 9.0 and Intel Trusted Platform Module 1.2 (TPM) for secure data encryption and restore features. Typical applications for IBASE's card include medical imaging, industrial automation, network security, gaming and digital signage.

"Like in all IBASE boards and systems, IB980 supports our iSMART green technology to provide intelligent power-saving and environmental performance through power on/off scheduling and power resume functions." said Wilson Lin, Senior Product Manager, IBASE.
