AAEON are today pleased to announce a new Type 6 COM Express board: COM-CV Rev.B. Built on the 32nm process technology, these products bring the latest technological advances and performance optimizations at higher CPU clock rates than previously available.
The COM-CV Rev.B is a Type 6 COM Express module with an integrated 3rd generation Intel Atom processor D2550 or N2600 and the Intel NM10 Express chipset. The SODIMM socket supports up to 4GB of DDR3 1066 memory. The Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet controller provides for fast networking applications in addition to all the I/O interfaces of the Type 6 COM Express, including four PCI Express[x1] slots, two USB3.0 ports and eight USB2.0 ports. The 24-bit LVDS LCD interface provides compatibility to today's most common displays.

“The COM-CV Rev.B will be offered with comprehensive support for the most common standard and embedded Microsoft and Linux environments.” states Louise Hsu, Product Manager of AAEON’s COM Division. “COM-CV Rev.B supports H.264 for video decoding. The first generation of Intel Atom processors to offer support for digital display interfaces, the Atom D2550 and N2600 processor offer 4x graphic performance compared to the previous generation. Thus, COM-CV Rev.B is a cost-effective and total solution for Digital Signage, Information Kiosks, Gaming and Medical applications.” Hsu concludes.

With Dual Core processing at 3.5W, this module will provide the best performance/watt at a price point to meet current project demands. Furthermore, the Intel Atom processor D2550 and N2600 includes Digital Thermal Sensors for low cost temperature monitoring, necessary in embedded applications. System integrators can also choose the ECB-917T, a carrier board for COM-CV Rev.B. ECB-917T is a Mini-ITX form factor carrier board that offers two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one mSATA port, two SATA 6.0Gb/s ports and one PCI-Express[x4] slot.
