Xilinx announced that its Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC family was voted the winner of the SoC and Programmable Logic category in the 2016 Innovation Awards, organised by Italian magazine Selezione di Elettronica. Presented at the Innovation Award Gala on 6th October in Milan, the award is one of 12 categories aimed at recognising the most innovative electronic and microelectronic devices.

The Italian engineering community has chosen to honour Xilinx for achieving an industry milestone with its Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices which provide 64-bit processor scalability while combining real-time control with soft and hard engines for graphics, video, waveform, and packet processing.

Built on a common real-time processor and programmable logic equipped platform, three distinct variants include dual application processor (CG) devices, quad application processor and GPU (EG) devices, and video codec (EV) devices, creating unlimited possibilities for applications such as 5G Wireless, next generation ADAS, and Industrial IoT.

“I am very honored to have been able to deliver to Xilinx this important prize in this seventh edition of our Innovation Award” said Laura Reggiani, editor in chief of Selezione di Elettronica. ”Xilinx has always been in the forefront of innovation and with this new line of devices, it opens the doors to tremendous applications, such as Embedded Vision (ADAS) and Industrial IoT”.
