Viscom AG announces that it achieved AEO certification and is now regarded as an official Authorized Economic Operator in the European Union. On September 5, 2012, the customs office granted the popular certificate to the Hannover-based manufacturer of optical and X-ray inspection systems.
AEO program members can benefit from faster controls and reduced administration for customs administration. The European Union and the United States agreed on mutual recognition of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program in the United States and the Authorised Economic Operator program of the European Union.

The standardization represents the protection of the continuous supply chain from the manufacturer of a product to the ultimate consumer.

The acknowledgement is bound to extensive prerequisites with regard to reliability, payment capacity, the compliance with the relevant legal provisions so far and the fulfillment of certain security standards.

After extensive audits and assessments, Viscom was awarded the popular status. Dirk Schwingel, Chief Financial Officer, and Alexandra Mattucci, Project Manager for the AEO application at Viscom, received the certificate at the main customs office in Hannover. This marks the 200th time a company from the main customs office district of Hannover has been classified as an especially trustworthy and reliable economic operator.

Dirk Schwingel: We are very pleased about the award of the certificate. In the extensive certification process we could successfully prove that our internal and external procedures are matching the highest standards. As a worldwide operating company, we emphasize once more that our customers can rely on the reliability and quality of Viscom.
