Tektronix has joined OpTecBB, the competence network for optical technologies and micro-system technology in the region of Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany.  By becoming a member of OpTecBB, Tektronix can now further support engineers testing optical communication components, modules and systems, especially with the DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope.

The instrument features the lowest-noise and highest effective number of bits of any ultra-high bandwidth real-time oscilloscope available.

With OpTecBB e.V. as a central contact and coordinating agency, Berlin Brandenburg offers an unparalleled industry platform for optical technologies and micro-systems technology. The competence network was founded by companies, research institutions, universities and federations supported by relevant ministries in Brandenburg and the Berlin Senate 15 years ago.

Today, the association is the largest regional cluster of Optical Technologies in Germany and has more than 100 institutional employees. The exchange between the members is organized primarily within technological focus groups.

Main advantages of the membership are easier access to knowledge, suppliers, customers and applications, new markets and public funding. Additionally, OpTecBB offers its members contact to experts, shorter “time to market”, marketing and communication support, trade fair support, education, workshops and studies, a job board, discounts and start-up/spin-off support.

In addition, OpTecBB is a member of EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium and active in the European Technology Platform Photonics21.

“Tektronix is proud to be a member of OpTecBB, contributing with decades of test and measurement experience for advanced applications like coherent optical, wideband radar and high-energy physics, design engineers need exceptional debug and trigger capability to solve “System” level challenges and test needs” said Dave Farrell, Tektronix Vice President Commercial Operations EMEA. “Advanced test tools are needed today to characterise signals at 100G, 400G, and beyond and Tektronix offers a wide portfolio of Coherent Optical Solutions.’
