StarChip has declared that it is fully set to perform EAL5+ and above certification. StarChip has recently moved its Headquarters and development centre to a new location equipped with the latest systems of security and fully compliant with the highly demanding Common Criteria certification processes.

This green and compliant brand new location is large enough to sustain StarChip growth strategy in the coming years in terms of design capacity and product development roadmap. As part of this roadmap growth StarChip is preparing the way for the introduction of future Smart Card controllers with advanced security and contactless technologies that will be Common Criteria certified. StarChip’s first Smart Card IC targeting EAL5+ certification is in development.

Concerning the SIM market, world’s largest in volume yet extremely competitive marketplace, StarChip will not only capitalize on the success of its current SIM family, but is also to accelerate its developments by introducing new products with various flash densities. These will cover the Native market alongside with products for USIM Java Card and Common Criteria certified SIM products for High-end applications.

“This announcement is in line with our strategy to establish StarChip as worldwide leader in the Smart Card IC market”, said Lucien Brau, President and CEO of StarChip. “At StarChip we intend to provide in the coming quarters a complete family for the Telecoms market, from Native to high-end as well as solutions to address the Banking & ID market. To achieve this StarChip already doubled its design capacity, established the right partnerships with foundries, certification laboratories and customers. At this stage investing in a bigger location and be prepared for Common Criteria is a logical step for our Smart Card strategy”.
