Rohde & Schwarz has created a test and measurement price offer that will save buyers up to 40 per cent. It is based on a specially priced HAMEG HMO3000 mixed signal oscilloscope plus two logic probes and all available software options free of charge. Hobbyists may want to put this on their Christmas list, and professional users may see it as an offer not to be spurned. Either party should not tarry too long as the promotion only runs until December 31, 2014.

HMO Complete, the name of the promotion, applies to all two-channel and four-channel HMO oscilloscopes from Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary HAMEG Instruments. The Complete2 bundle includes the two-channel 500 MHz HMO3052, and Complete4 contains the comparable four-channel HMO3054. At no extra charge, the Munich-based electronics specialist adds two HO3516 eight-channel digital probes with a sampling rate of 1 Gsample/s for analysing up to 16 logic channels.

The two logic probes are not tied to a specific instrument and can be used with any other HMO oscilloscope. To complete the bundle, the HOO10, HOO12 and HOO14 software options are also included.

Professional users will like the additional functionality provided by these options: HOO10: Bus analysis for I2C, SPI and UART/RS-232 signals on analogue and logic channels; HOO12: Bus analysis of CAN and LIN signals on analogue and logic channels; and HOO14: Optional partitioning of available memory in up to 1000 segments with an acquisition rate of 200,000 waveforms/s
