Renesas utilises Express Logic's X-Ware software solution

The Renesas Synergy Platform is designed to remove many obstacles that embedded-system design engineers face in developing products for the growing IoT and industrial markets. As a result, the platform can reduce time-to-market and TCO.

The key advantage of the platform hinges on the 'software first' approach, which enables engineers to begin development at the API level instead of first having to spend valuable time developing, integrating and testing generic software products from multiple vendors. In keeping with this approach, Renesas has fully integrated X-Ware into its software package. The SSP uses qualified embedded software, tested to commercial standards with ensured compatibility across all Renesas Synergy MCUs.

X-Ware is based on the widely deployed, real-time multitasking ThreadX RTOS, which features fully preemptive, preemption-threshold and round-robin scheduling capabilities, priority inheritance, event chaining, real-time event trace, run-time stack analysis and completely deterministic processing. ThreadX is the first RTOS to have earned UL/IEC 60730/60335 certification, and is certified for UL 1998, IEC 61508/62304, and ISO 26262, and is 100% compliant with MISRA-C:2004 and MISRA C:2012.

X-Ware provides a suitable means of facilitating the rapid exchange of data required by the IoT.
