PREMO participated in the 13th edition of the European International Power Electronics Conference and Exhibition, EPE 2009, celebrated in Barcelona from 8-10 September. After previous successful editions in Brussels, Grenoble, Aachen, Florence, Brighton, Seville, Trondheim, Lausanne, Graz, Toulouse, Dresden and Aalborg, EPE 2009, co-organized with ECPE, had offered state-of-the-art keynotes and several industrial sessions.

Related to Power Electronics, three dialogue sessions took place allowing face-to-face discussion with the authors, different workshops in power electronics, power systems and education and panel discussions on current topics. Fields like new devices, automotive, custom power systems and adjustable speed drives have been on the focus of the conference. Advances in Energy Conversion and Conditioning Technologies (ECCT), exploiting new power electronic systems, energy conversion devices and system control regimes, are all crucial to the development of the clean, efficient and sustainable technology of the future. EPE 2009 has offered a wide discussion forum on all topics related to these aspects.

PREMO, specialist in inductive components for power electronics, showed its latest innovations in high energy storage chokes (AIC and Pot Cores), innovations in current measurements technologies such more lineal and accurate current transducers (DCT Series), new DC filters series to avoid premature PV panel aging and high power planar transformers and chokes specially designed for hybrid and electric cars DC-DC converters technology.

Additionally, PREMO held a vendor session to introduce and show EPE’s attendees a more comprehensive outlook of the wide range of inductive components offered to the power electronics and power conversion applications.

EPE 2009 has been an excellent platform for a direct communication between university, researchers and the business world. PREMO expects to support R+D activities and projects in the power electronics field, helping create the state-of-art new technology for a cleaner, safer and more efficient future.
