ON Semiconductor appoints new Japanese President

ON Semiconductor have today revealed that Takahisa Amemiya has joined the company to manage and lead the sales and marketing operations in Japan as President and Representative Director of ON Semiconductor Japan and Co-President and Representative Director of SANYO Semiconductor Device.

“Amemiya-san is a strong addition to ON Semiconductor and will be a valuable leader for our Japan sales and marketing organization. We brought Amemiya-san on board to build a strong demand-creation sales and marketing organization focused on selling ON Semiconductor’s broad portfolio of products into Japan, and growing our business at key Japanese customers and distribution partners,” commented Paul Rolls, executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for ON Semiconductor.

Amemiya-san brings 25 years of semiconductor industry experience in sales, product line business unit management and field applications engineering management to the position. Most recently he was Country Manager for Fairchild Semiconductor’s Japan sales and marketing organization. Amemiya-san has also held sales, business unit and marketing positions at Texas Instruments. At TI he successfully led a $600 million analog and logic business as a general manager and was a member of executive operating team for TI’s Japan entity.

Takahisa Amemiya comments: “Accelerating the upward growth of ON Semiconductor revenues in Japan will require demonstrating to customers the value-add provided by the company’s broad range of energy efficient solutions, outstanding design support and customer service, and responsiveness of its global supply chain network. We will work in partnership with our customers to help them differentiate their products by solving their unique design challenges with our broad portfolio of product and innovative, energy efficient solutions that addresses a wide range of end-market applications.”
