Nu Horizons continues European expansion into Austria

Nu Horizons Electronics has continued its European expansion with the appointment of Herbert Maierhofer (44) as sales manager for Austria. Mr. Maierhofer, who is based in Vienna, reports to Thomas Reisinger, Managing Director at Nu Horizons Electronics GmbH in Munich. US-based Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. entered the European market with the acquisition of DT Electronics in the UK in August last year. Nu Electronics GmbH opened its Munich offices on May 1, 2007 and then acquired Munich-based Dacom-Süd the following month. Nu Horizons Electronics GmbH is a distributor for components from Anadigm, Cirronet, Chipx, Elec & Eltek, Micrel, N2Power, Nordic Semiconductor, Pericom, Pletronics, RF Monolithics, Saronix, SMSC, Winbond and Xilinx.
Mr. Maierhofer joins the company after 5 years as a field application engineer with EBV Elektronik inVienna. His early career was spent in hardware and firmware design, and design management, primarily in the communications sector.

Commenting on the appointment, Thomas Reisinger said, “We are very pleased to welcome another highly skilled and experienced technical manager to the Nu Horizons team. With our focus on demand creation and technical support for customers, Mr. Maierhofer will add further to our capabilities as we continue our rapid expansion across Europe.”
