The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN), one of the UK’s primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, is pleased to announce that one of its members, Promethean Particles, has secured three new contracts as a result of attending one-to-one partnering meetings at events hosted by the NanoKTN.
Promethean Particles, a spin-out company from the University of Nottingham, has developed a unique reactor technology to allow unprecedented product control and flexibility in inorganic nanoparticle dispersion manufacture. Working with their customers to develop bespoke nanoparticle solutions for a range of industries including energy, health and personal care, electronics and security, its extensive expertise in nanoparticle design and formulation is enabled by its unique approach to reactor design allowing continuous hydrothermal synthesis of a wide range of materials.

This production technology allows the continuous production of high specification inorganic nanomaterial dispersions at both small and large scales. This allows rapid screening and prototyping of new materials whilst ensuring that large scale manufacture is available when their product is ready to enter the market.

Promethean Particles has attended many NanoKTN events as a speaker and delegate, helping them to keep up-to-date with the latest industry news, using the events as a key networking tool to generate sales and marketing leads. As a direct result of attending the NanoKTN events and meeting with key industry professionals, Promethean Particles has secured three new contracts.

Promethean Particles’ Technical Director, Ed Lester considers the marketing and networking opportunities provided by the NanoKTN, and the committed support from its staff, essential to the success of the company. “I have personally attended many NanoKTN events and without a doubt they have been invaluable to us as a business. The presentations have kept us informed of industry developments and allowing us to present has enabled us to introduce our technologies directly to our target audience, which has led to us securing new sales and contracts. I know of three contracts from the last year that we would not have secured if we hadn’t of attended these events,” explains Ed Lester, Technical Director, Promethean Particles.

Lester adds, “The nanotechnology industry is relatively new and there are a number of gaps in the supply chain that prohibit products getting to market in an effective manner. The NanoKTN plays an invaluable role in connecting businesses and is critical to the development of a more complete supply chain. I would recommend the NanoKTN to anyone who wants to raise their profile and receive a huge amount of excellent exposure.”
