Martek Powertron, the company established following Powertron’s acquisition by Martek in 2007, has changed its name to Martek Power in line with the rest of the Martek Power Group.
The name Powertron is synonymous with high reliability power supplies and converters for railway applications. Martek Power has registered Powertron as a trademark and it will continue to appear as a brand name on products and literature.

The company retains its design and manufacturing facility at Glebe Farm Technical Campus near Cambridge, UK.

“After we joined Martek Power, we decided to retain the Powertron name because our railway industry customers trusted Powertron to provide a quality, reliable and technically advanced power source”. Says Chief Executive Mike Carter. “Now, the time is right to align ourselves with the rest of the Martek Power Group. However, despite our name change, customers can still specify a product backed by the brand name Powertron. Only the company name has changed”. adds Carter.

The change of name was timed to coincide with the launch of the Group’s new website, www.martekpower.com. This now features all of the Powertron® product line alongside the Group’s other power supplies covering a wide range of industry sectors.
