Luso Electronics Distribution has announced its has become UK and Ireland distributor for the N2Power range of ultra-small high-efficiency AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies. California-based N2Power develops and manufactures ultra-small and efficient open-frame switching power supplies based on patented technology. The N2Power product range includes more than 90 AC-DC and DC-DC models rated from 125 to 375 watts.
The agreement is the third deal for Luso Electronics Distribution, since its establishment in May 2011 as a division of Luso Electronics. Luso works with a limited number of complementary franchises for which they provide expert technical and commercial support.

“This is a very significant addition to our power conversion offering”, said David Zelkha, managing director of Luso Electronics, “Offering industry-leading heat dissipation, the N2Power range offers highly compact and highly efficient devices, with some models delivering power densities of more than 15W per cubic inch.”

“We are confident that Luso, as a small, flexible and extremely well focused company with real expertise, is going to play a key role in creating demand for our power technologies within leading customers,” said Randy Johnson, Vice President and General Manager of N2Power.

The N2Power supplies are engineered for applications where cost, space, packaging, electrical consumption and heat dissipation are important considerations. Applications for the power supplies include servers and routers, switches and telecom equipment, RAID storage and other processor-based equipment. All N2Power power supplies incorporate active Power Factor Correction technology and meet a full range of international agency requirements, including RoHS, UL, DEMKO, CE Mark and FCC Class B.

N2Power was founded in 1998, and acquired in 2002 by Qualstar Corporation a leading manufacturer of automated tape storage solutions. N2Power is located within Qualstar’s main facility in Simi Valley, California.

Other recent franchises announced by Luso include: an exclusive UK and Ireland agreement to distribute SynQor’s DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies; and a European distribution agreement with Elec & Eltek for magnetic components, including transformers, noise filters and common-mode chokes.
