Intersil semiconductors has announced that it will showcase its latest D2Audio products, an IC for still and video cameras, as well as its Q:Active HD line of high-performance DisplayPort cables at the International CES on 7 to 10th January at the Las Vegas convention centre, Nevada, USA. In addition, the company will demonstrate its latest products for light and proximity sensors, displays, SmartPhones and home theatre applications.
At CES, Intersil will introduce the following exciting products and technologies:

D2Audio DTV SoundSuite(TM)
At CES, Intersil will be showing demos of its D2-41051, D2-41151, D2-45057 and D2-45157 products. These are System-on-Chip (SoC) Class-D digital audio amplifiers that provide complete, cost-effective audio solutions for digital TV systems, PC multimedia speakers, portable device docking stations and other high-volume consumer products. All of the devices provide a complete audio system, combining the industry's most powerful, efficient audio processor and PWM controller with extensive integrated DSP processing and configurable audio processing algorithms. They provide the industry's broadest feature set, highest amplifier efficiency and lowest system material cost.

WIDESound x 4(TM) Multi-Channel Soundbar Simulator
Visitors to Intersil's booth will be able to experience WIDESound x 4(TM) technology, a multi-channel soundbar simulated virtualization effect that greatly enhances audio capabilities in flat panel TVs or other applications where full sized speakers are impractical. WIDESound x 4 utilizes the full power of a true digital signal processing (DSP) system with enhanced control of the simulated loudspeaker system. Variations of the WIDESound x 4 technology allow for soundbar implementations of two, four or six loudspeaker systems for a completely scalable architecture.

World's Fastest, Most Accurate Image Sensor Driving Solution
Intersil's ISL55112 dual CCD driver uses a patented technique to deliver fast, matched rise and fall times into highly capacitive image sensor loads. This results in stable, predictable CCD driver waveforms that meet the needs of portable still or video camera designers. Small 4x5mm TQFN packaging allows a pair of devices to be used with sensors having dual video outputs, minimizing board space. With energy-saving features such as quick recovery standby and an ultra-efficient power-down mode, the ISL55112 offers substantial improvements in battery life for digital cameras.

Q:Active DisplayPort Cables
At CES, Intersil will also demonstrate its Q:Active® HD line of high-performance DisplayPort cables. Visitors will be able to experience deep color, full-bandwidth HD digital video running over the industry's longest and thinnest copper Mini DisplayPort (mDP) to DisplayPort hybrid cable. Intersil's CES demo shows 50Gbps of Deep Color video information running 20 metres to a 25 megapixel HyperWall in stunning clarity. These active cables support the full 8.64Gbps bandwidth (HBR) of DisplayPort 1.1a, enabling a resolution of 2560p x 1600p through up to 50 metres of copper cable - far exceeding the capabilities of interconnects which are currently limited to lengths of 3 metres or less.
