Global Display Solutions (GDS) Ltd has announced that it has increased capabilities following a recent series of acquisitions. The procurement of Clearview Displays LLC in January 2007 and of CPG International Spa & Finmek Automation Srl in February 2007 has enabled GDS to provide custom solutions to its clients supported by increased Electronic, Mechanical and Design capabilities.
GDS has grown its display services provision through the creation of a new company, GDS Clearview, formerly Clearview Displays, specialising in optical bonding services. GDS Clearview will grow the current GDS product offering, through the addition of the innovative G-BOND technology. The introduction of G-BOND technology, a unique optical bonding procedure that offers the highest performance of any display enhancement technique in the industry, to the GDS range provides customers with an even wider range of optically bonded services. G-BOND technology will complement the current range of GDS outdoor displays, which require advanced optical enhancement and sunlight readability.

GDS Manufacturing Services (MS) division has over 30 years’ experience in the electronic manufacturing services industry, and comprises Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Mechanical Manufacturing Services (MMS). In order to ensure it provides the best possible service, GDS MS conducts 100% inspection of incoming materials and uses bar code systems to avoid errors between components, programmes and on-line technical documentation. GDS MS supplies a variety of customers in the high-tech environment, including GE Medical, Ducati and Marconi, and offers a wide capability from low to high volume production.

Through the acquisition of CPG International, a multi-technology printer company specialising in business and industrial markets, GDS has created a new company, GDS Sferal Worldwide Technology Srl. GDS Sferal develops serial matrix, transactional and thermal printers, as well as connectivity solutions. The company also markets its own Compuprint brand, as well as producing private label products for OEMs.

Giovanni Cariolato, CEO of GDS, comments, “We are confident that we can now offer an improved range of products and better all-round service to our customers. With the formation of GDS Clearview and GDS Sferal we have strengthened our ability to provide bespoke solutions for a wide range of applications, a service that is further enhanced by our manufacturing capabilities.”
