Nu Horizons Electronics has promoted Gerry Hewitt (47) to Director of Marketing EMEA. Hewitt was previously UK Marketing Director with the company. Based in Coventry, he now takes responsibility for product marketing, inventory management and marketing communications throughout Nu Horizons’ EMEA operations. Hewitt reports to Dave Bowers, President of Nu Horizons’ Distribution Division and acting President of Nu Horizons EMEA, who is based at the company’s US headquarters.
Gerry Hewitt joined DT Electronics in 1997 as Marketing Manager, joining the board of the company as Marketing Director in 2000. DT Electronics was acquired by Nu Horizons Corporation in August 2006 and was renamed Nu Horizons Electronics in April this year. Since the acquisition, annualized sales have doubled in the UK, through both indigenous growth and the addition of new franchises. In May, a sales office was established in Munich and a Munich-based, design-led distributor, Dacom Süd, was acquired in early June. A Nu Horizons sales office opened in Vienna a few weeks later and more are planned as the global distributor of advanced technology semiconductor, display, illumination, power and system solutions continues its rapid growth across Europe.

“We are always keen to promote from within and Gerry has an impeccable track record of success during his 10 years with DT Electronics and Nu Horizons,” said Dave Bowers. “As we expand to offer a local service in every part of Europe, his experience will be a great asset in leading our marketing efforts,” he added.
