Schaffner has announced the winner of the 2007 Farnell/Schaffner/University of York award for best EMC project. This year’s winner is James Johnson for his project considering the safety and environmental requirements of electronic equipment on railway rolling stock.
The project covered all aspects of integrating new electronic equipment into the harsh railway environment, taking full account of safety, interoperability directives and relevant EMC Directives. A major part of James work was concerned with correct EMC installation and test requirements.

Martin Wyatt, Northern Region Sales Manager for EMC Components at Schaffner Ltd. comments. “We are very pleased to be presenting this latest of our annual joint EMC awards with Farnell to James who has worked on a very practical issue with interesting results. We wish to congratulate the University of York on the quality of the work done by their students on EMC projects and are happy to continue rewarding these achievements.”
