There is a new contender in the RF/ microwave distribution space. Transtech Technologies has been established to act as a technical representative in France for manufacturers of microwave and RF products. It is backed by two established distributors – Globes Elektronik of Germany and Link Microtek of the UK.
The sales activity at Transtech will be spearheaded by Véronique Subrebost, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the microwave sector in France. The managing directors of Globes and Link Microtek, Ulrich Blievernicht and Steve Cranstone, are both directors of Transtech.
Transtech has already signed three lines to kick off the business – Ferrite Microwave Technologies, a manufacturer of high-power microwave components; Lark Engineering, which produces microwave and RF filters; and Communication Components (CCI), which supplies mobile infrastructure products.
Other suppliers will be signed to bolster the product portfolio with a variety of waveguide, coaxial and semiconductor components, as well as assemblies and instrumentation.
In addition, Transtech will represent Link Microtek’s own manufactured products, including rotary joints, waveguide components, the Azdec infrared secure communications system and the EMILI 3 liquid explosive detection system. Key sectors for Transtech will be defence, space, homeland security, telecoms, automotive and medical.
Recruitment of an engineering and technical focused team is under way. Ulrich Blievernicht says, “We expect the company to be fully established by the end of this year and it will start 2017 with all guns blazing.”
Globes and Link are each well established in the microwave representation business in their respective territories and have had a long association, partnering on various projects and joint ventures for many years.
