Electro Rent Europe is preparing to flex its muscles in the UK/Ireland test and measurement rental market. Ten years of sales growth has persuaded the company it needs a permanent base. “We are not impulsive,” smiles David Saeys, Managing Director of Electro Rent Europe. The company has moved into temporary offices in Staines – “once we had made up our minds we were keen to get started,” explains Saeys - while an agent looks for a more permanent base in the same M4 close to Heathrow area.

Saeys expects this to be up and running in the next two to three months.

“The UK business has reached a level where we need account managers with technical people in support,” says Saeys. Hiring has already started.

A UK country manager has been signed up and the new structure will boast two account managers and an internal sales engineer with one more account manager to come.

The company will also bring in logistics staff as the plan is to hold inventory in the UK.

“As in all the markets where we operate it will be tailored to local needs,” explains Saeys. “It emphasises our commitment to the UK market, and it will enable us to build a stronger relationship with our customers.”

The company offers equipment from all the big names in test and measurement including Keysight Technologies, Tektronix, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu and Teledyne LeCroy.

It has over $600m worth of inventory worldwide and says Saeys, “One of our USPs is to invest in the very latest equipment. We are happy to take a bit more risk to meet as many requirements as possible.”

A wide range of markets are addresses including RF and wireless, digital design, general purpose test and measurement equipment, wireless and wireline and electrical and power.
