Pericom Semiconductor’s PI3HDMI411AD active-drive DVI/HDMI switch is now available from Nu Horizons Electronics. The device uses advanced pre-emphasis and de-emphasis techniques, with configurable pre-emphasis levels of 0, 1.5, 3.5 and 6.0dB.
The PI3HDMI411AD is for high resolution video networks that are based on DVI/HDMI standards, and TMDS signal processing. It is an active single TMDS channel re-driver with Hi-Z outputs.

The device provides output controllable swing levels of 500, 700 and 1000mV that can be managed via pin control or I2C control, depending on the mode select pin. Compatible with DVI, HDMI rev 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 signals, the device has 8-, 10- and 12-bit deep colour support.

Inbuilt optimised equalisation offers the user a single setting that can provide HDMI compliance for cable lengths of 2, 10, 15 and 20m. The equalisation settings can be fine-tuned in situations where cable length is known.
