With the acquisition of North Hills Signal Processing, completed on 5th May 2017, Data Device Corporation (DDC) has announced the expansion of its transformer product offering. North Hills Signal Processing is a supplier of MIL-STD-1553 data bus couplers, network testers, and related hardware including cables, connectors, and terminators.

This addition of North Hills Signal Processing to the DDC family greatly expands DDC’s transformer product and technology portfolio with new MIL-STD-1553, RF wideband, interface and power magnetic solutions, along with expanded manufacturing capabilities and engineering resources.

North Hills Signal Processing will become a part of Beta Transformer Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of DDC, and together the combined group will provide signal and power transformer/magnetic solutions for the defense, civil aerospace, and space industries. The expanded product offering includes new MIL-STD-1553 couplers, active IEEE 1394 (FireWire) transformers, RF wideband transformers, MIL-STD-1553 transformers, power transformers, and Scott-T transformers. Additionally, the North Hills Signal Processing manufacturing centre of excellence in Matamoros, Mexico, will provide DDC with greater production capacity and expanded resources to serve global market needs for signal, power and space magnetics. North Hills operations, like those of Beta Transformer Technology Corporation, are ISO9001:2008 and AS9100C registered, and their transformers are manufactured in accordance with MIL-PRF-21038, maintaining excellent electrical characteristics and circuit performance.

Vincent Buffa, President and CEO of DDC, stated: "The acquisition of North Hills Signal Processing Corporation greatly expands DDC’s transformer product offerings and capabilities to serve the aerospace, defense, space and industrial markets. We are all very excited about the addition of North Hills to the DDC family and the resulting value that our combined best-in-class signal and power transformer/magnetic solutions will provide.”
