Typical touch-sensing designs require multiple discrete components, each of which adds cost and occupies board space. The presenter will demonstrate how Cypress's CapSense® Plus™ family gives engineers more design flexibility through greater configurability and better performance of digital and analog resources for implementing PWMs, timers, communication interfaces such as I2C and SPI, ADCs and more. Leveraging a dedicated dual-channel interface allows a single device to implement multiple buttons and slider interfaces while managing functions such as motor control, intelligent sensing, LED control and more.
The CapSense family is based on Cypress’s PSoC® programmable system-on-chip architecture, allowing for dynamic reprogramming of analog and digital components in minutes. This enables designers to morph internal resources on-the-fly, utilizing fewer components to perform a given task. With fixed-function components, making changes can be time consuming and cause project delays. By contrast, a programmable approach enables designers to implement system changes with no new silicon and without having to redesign circuit boards.
