Chiron Global, the Australian and New Zealand owned innovations company behind Unified Weapons Master (UWM), today announced that the company has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer, Colin Blake. Blake brings to Chiron Global his extensive brand and commercial marketing experience gained from his time representing well-known brands such as General Pants Group, MTV, Viacom and music streaming service Rdio.

“It is an exciting time to be joining Chiron Global as it embarks on the next phase of growth and development following the recent UWM Underground Test Event, Vital Target Combat 1 (VTC1) held in New Zealand. I look forward to driving growth and ensuring UWM continues to allow all weapons martial artists the opportunity to compete against one another in fully engaged combat. We will continue to build a format that leaves science and technology to judge the winner, while furthering our expertise in wearable sensor technologies,” said Blake.

"We are keen to identify the best weapons martial artists the world over. Placing them head-to-head to find the world’s first and future Unified Weapons Masters.”

Blake’s goal is to develop UWM as a globally recognised, revolutionary new combat sport and data-driven entertainment experience. As a result of feedback from the martial arts fighters in the VTC1 Test Event, the armour, weapons, sensor technology and sports combat format are being further developed. UWM delivers a totally unique entertainment experience that combines the old world history of weapons martial arts with the new world of wearable technology.

"We are creating something entirely new using state-of-the-art technology, but we are building on thousands of years of weapons martial arts history. These arts have very deep ties to the countries and cultures in which they were developeCd, and we are continually trying to do justice to these different martial arts styles whilst also being at the forefront of technological development.

“Now that we have a fully functioning production version of the Lorica, (a custom developed carbon fibre, integrated technology armour suit), we are engaging the investment community in a series B fundraising round. Our aim is to scale Chiron and UWM more quickly and move into new untapped markets. This will be my core focus over the next few months,” added Blake.

Before moving into marketing management roles, Blake was head coach for the Canadian National Snowboarding Team. At the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games the team became the first snowboarding team to ever win an Olympic gold medal. This significant achievement made Colin Canada's youngest Gold Medal winning Olympic head coach.
