Agilent has announced that Digital EMC, Asia's leading test and certification service provider, has adopted the Agilent HDMI1.3 Compliance Test Solution to test its HDMI-enabled devices. The devices will be submitted for use in the world's eighth HDMI Authorized Testing Center (ATC), located in Korea. Agilent equipment is used in the majority of the ATCs worldwide.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an established uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface that provides crystal-clear audio and video via a single cable. HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide the highest-quality home theater experience, serving as the interface between sources such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor.

The Agilent test solution for HDMI CTS 1.3 enables high-quality measurements through its market-leading signal integrity and unique independent clock and data jitter insertion capability. The solution package includes the Agilent DSO 90000A real-time oscilloscope with N5399A HDMI compliance test software, the 81250A ParBERT-based E4887A TMDS signal generator with cable emulators, N1080A TPAs (Test Point Access Assemblies or fixtures), the N5990A test automation software platform and the N5998A protocol / audio / video generator and analyzer.

In partnership with Simplay Labs, Digital EMC will operate the first Authorized Testing Center in Korea, scheduled to open in late 2009.

We are excited to be the first Authorized Testing Center in Korea with the Agilent HDMI 1.3 solution, which will give us an advantage in providing high-quality HDMI 1.3 compliance testing service, said Charlie Park, president of Digital EMC. Also, Digital EMC can help local companies reduce the cost of product development and achieve a quicker time to market now that they will be able to quickly access the first ATC in the Korean market and don't need to ship their products overseas for compliance testing.

This continues our successful partnership with Agilent, said Joseph Lias, president of Simplay Labs. Now with our new partnership with Digital EMC, we can better serve the demand of our Korean customers as well as reach out to the growing Korean marketplace.

We are pleased Digital EMC selected our HDMI1.3 test solution, said Scott Sampl, general manager of Agilent's oscilloscope business. It demonstrates once again Agilent's leadership position as the provider of high-speed digital test solutions for HDMI.
