Kenet Inc., a fabless semiconductor company based in Woburn, Massachusetts, announced today that it has appointed Link Microtek of Basingstoke as its UK representative.
Founded in 2002 to commercialise innovative technology that had been developed at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory, Kenet offers a broad range of award-winning, high-performance, analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) that feature very fast sampling rates up to 500 MSPS while delivering ultra-low power consumption.

Link Microtek’s sales manager, Stuart Hendry, was enthusiastic about the new agreement: “Kenet’s FemtoCharge® CMOS ADCs deliver an unprecedented combination of high speed sampling, low power consumption and small size, giving customers’ products distinct competitive advantages in a variety of applications, including high-performance instrumentation, broadband communication infrastructure, defence systems and others.”

The Kenet product range includes 8, 10, 12 and 14-bit ADCs with the total product portfolio comprising more than 40 unique part numbers. Kenet’s highest performance 12-bit converter, the KAD5512P-50, operates at 500 million samples per second while consuming less than 400mW of power – nearly an order of magnitude less power than competitive products while equalling or exceeding their performance.

“We are pleased to have expanded our sales and marketing coverage with a respected firm like Link Microtek,” commented Kenet’s President and CEO, Phill LoPresti. “Not only do they offer the superior level of technical expertise demanded by our customers, but they also have many years of experience in the specific markets where our high-speed ADCs will provide customers a competitive advantage.”

In addition to providing Kenet with sales and marketing coverage in the UK, Link Microtek will be working in partnership with Globes Elektronik in Germany and Elexo in France to establish a European inventory-sharing arrangement for the Kenet range of products.
