ACAL Technology has launched an online World Cup competition site with a results prediction game, mini-leagues and Keepy Uppy, an online game which tests players’ online footballing skills. Players can register free at: www.acaltechnology.com/soccer and play for a chance to win a Nintendo® Wii™ with official World Cup game and replica World Cup trophies. Anyone registering on the site can also apply for one of thousands of free footballs.
To enter the prediction game, players simply predict the outcome or final score of the World Cup games up to an hour before kick-off. Players can check their progress against the actual results, and against other players, throughout the competition. A mobile site, compatible with most mobile devices, allows registered players to enter predictions and check their results from their mobile phone at mobile.acaltechnology.com. The player who finishes with the highest number of points will win a Nintendo Wii and World Cup game, as well as a replica trophy. Creating a mini-league allows players to compete against their friends or colleagues.

Testing players’ online footballing skills, Keepy Uppy is a simple but addictive game where players click a football to keep it in the air. At the end of the competition, the player with the most number of clicks before the ball touches the turf will win a replica World Cup trophy and the admiration of their online competitors. Further games will be added to increase the challenge and fun during the promotion.

ACAL’s Simon Rush, Divisional Sales and Marketing Information Manager, explained, “Creating online competitions to support the World Cup is a natural progression for ACAL as we already have active online dialogues with customers and the wider electronics industry through Twitter, LinkedIn®, RSS feeds and YouTube.”

The ACAL competitions will run until the final match of the World cup on 11th July and are open to any-one, except employees of ACAL Technology, who register to play at: www.acaltechnology.com/soccer.
