Texas Instruments Incorporated has introduced new sub-1 GHz 6LoWPAN solutions, aimed at providing a gateway for remote, low-cost wireless sensors to connect to the Internet and a wireless extension of wired IPv6 infrastructures. By operating in the sub-1GHz band, TI's 6LoWPAN solutions offer longer wireless range at lower power levels than traditional 2.4 GHz-based 6LoWPAN offerings. The 6LoWPAN solutions support large-scale mesh networks and are suitable for applications such as Smart Grid, security, home and building automation, street lighting and other wireless sensor networks. The new product family includes the CC1180 network processor, CC430 complete system-on-chip (SoC) microcontrollers, 6LoWPAN software stack, and CC-6LOWPAN-DK-868 development kit.

TI introduces the industry’s smallest High-Speed USB protection device for portable applications
Texas Instruments Incorporated have introduced the industry's first device to integrate four types of USB 2.0 chip protection in a single package. The TPD4S014 provides a high level of protection against electrostatic discharge and is the industry's smallest USB protection device for all four USB channels, measuring only 2 mm x 2 mm. Should the device junction temperature exceed 150 degrees Celsius, the switch turns off to the power rail, thus protecting against over-temperature conditions. To protect the power rail from a moving voltage line, the load switch in the TPD4S014 immediately opens, preventing under- or over-voltage if the power supply rail drops lower than 2.8 V or higher than 6.15 V.

TI introduces Qi-compliant, single-chip wireless power transmitter IC to lower implementation cost
Texas Instruments Incorporated has introduced its next-generation bqTESLA wireless power transmitter integrated circuit (IC). The bq500210 lowers the transmitter bill of materials cost by more than 50 percent, compared to existing solutions, by integrating the transmitter and supporting components into a single chip. The small, highly intelligent IC integrates the functionality required to safely and efficiently control wireless power transfer in a contactless charging base station. By utilizing Wireless Power Consortium (WPC)-compliant inductive power transfer, the transmitter provides power to Qi-compliant portable devices, such as smart phones, portable gaming systems, digital cameras and Bluetooth® low energy systems, as well as medical and industrial equipment.
Huawei Launches the World's First LTE TDD Wireless Broadband Router
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has announced the commercial availability of the world's first LTE TDD wireless broadband router, the Huawei B593, through Saudi Arabian operator Mobily in October this year, in conjunction with the commercial availability of large-scale LTE TDD networks worldwide.
