Byte Paradigm debuts Powerful USB Digital Pattern Generators
News Release from:
19 January 2011
Byte Paradigm has introduced GP-24116 and GP-24132, which combine a high-speed digital pattern generator, logic analyzer and bi-directional (SPI/I²C) host adapter with either 16MB or 32MB of internal memory. GP-241xx devices offer high-speed programmable bidirectional interfaces that allow the stimulation and analysis of digital electronic systems, providing flexible and powerful access to electronic devices under test.
With an internal 16MB or 32MB embedded memory buffer and 100 MHz operation on all 16 digital lines, GP- 241xx devices provide powerful general purpose and expandable PC-based tools that ideally complement existing system debug equipment such as logic analyzers and high-speed oscilloscopes. GP-241xx can be used as an arbitrary digital pattern generator, logic analyzer or serial protocol master / analyzer, with 16 address/data lines and 6 control lines, offering up to 100 MHz (200MB/s burst) performance. With GP-24116 and GP-24132 Byte Paradigm extends its GP Series range of multi-function test and debug devices controlled from USB. 'It is sometimes a matter of how long your patterns must be or how much you want to record. Unfortunately, during ASIC, SoC, FPGA or embedded system design, bugs can't be avoided.
They sometimes occur during infrequently met conditions or after some (milli)seconds run. Having the ability to stimulate circuits and systems with long pattern runs and observe their response is really what our customers are asking for today', Frédéric Leens, Sales & Marketing Manager at Byte Paradigm says. GP-241xx are delivered with the 8PI Control Panel 2.xx software suite, including: Windows(R) GUI, TCL/tk interface and access to C/C++ DLL. This new release allows multiple devices control, enabling the implementation of a complete stimulus-and-response loop with portable USB 2.0 devices.
The C programming interface allows developing custom test programs from any C-compatible environment to automate and repeat specific tasks. Like their predecessor -the GP-24100- the standard ADWG (pattern generator) and logic analyzer mode of operations are included with GP-24116 and GP-24132 devices. They can be turned into a SPI host adapter/analyzer and I2C host adapter/analyzer with extra modes of operation. GP-24116 and GP-24132 are available now from Byte Paradigm and its network of distributors at 1.100 EUR and 1.200 EUR respectively with standard options, software and cables.
