Sound Idea Increases EMC Test Capability
OXLEY Developments has significantly improved its in-house capability, acquiring a £100K EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Test Chamber for its Ulverston headquarters. The four metre long anechoic chamber is designed to absorb electromagnetic waves and is also screened from any external noise. It has been installed in the Design and Development Test Facility at the Priory Park site where all new Oxley products are developed and tested. The chamber is used to test the compatibility of different types of electrical equipment operating in the same environment in order to minimise the effects of electromagnetic interference which can adversely affect their performance.
UL recognized by Verizon as Independent Test Laboratory
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a world leader in product safety testing and certification, announced today that it has been recognized by Verizon Communications, Inc. as an Independent Test Laboratory (ITL) for its Thermal Modeling, Simulations and Test (TMST) program. UL's testing and certification services will help Verizon attempt to achieve its goal of realizing a 20 percent reduction of overall power requirements in network gear.
TRaC extends environmental test services with a shock tester
TRaC has further extended its environmental test capabilities with the installation of a Lansmont 95 shock test machine. The investment, at TRaC's Warwick facility, augments a shock, impact and vibration test installation that already comprises 14 electromagnetic "shakers" and an alternative design of drop test machine.
TRaC Opens Largest Test Facility in North West of England
TRaC, the leading testing, certification and validation company, announces a major expansion of its operations in the North West of England. The company today opened a new 15,000 sq. ft. centre of excellence in Up Holland, Lancashire, making it the largest commercial facility in the North and the only one of its kind in the North West of England that places a comprehensive testing service within easy travelling range for customers in the region. C-MAC MicroTechnology announced it has enhanced its independent Test House facility in Great Yarmouth. C-MAC has made significant investment in a new, more capable vibration test system, which will be of particular value to the oil and gas industry, and extended its cold storage capability to meet the growing demand from the new UK space agency.
Renesas Technology Europe confirms outstanding EMC performance of microcontroller families with Langer EMV-Technik GmbH
Renesas Technology Europe announced today that the outstanding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance of its H8, R8C and SuperH microcontroller families has been confirmed by the independent testing company Langer EMV-Technik GmbH. According to its own immunity levels appreciation, Langer EMV-Technik commented that the Renesas MCUs were rated very highly with almost all pins being able to withstand bursts of 480V. Renesas MCUs' good EMC performance helps reduce development costs, as the microcontroller no longer needs to be protected by a specific transient voltage surge suppressor or an expensive multilayer ceramic capacitor.
Molex Purchases Key Assets of Motorola Antenna/EMC Measurement Lab
Molex has purchased the equipment assets of the Motorola Antenna/EMC Measurement Lab in Aalborg, Denmark. The lab has state-of-the-art antenna and EMC measurement equipment, including anechoic chambers, an EMC chamber and a SAR system. Molex will use the lab for RF research projects to further advance Molex antenna technologies for wireless applications.
3C Test Gain UKAS Accreditation for Military Equipment
3C Test Ltd has recently invested heavily in new test equipment to enable its EMC Laboratory to gain UKAS Military equipment accreditation to the following specifications: MIL-STD-461D; MIL-STD-461E; Defence Standard 59-41; Defence Standard 59-411; RTCA DO-160C.
TESEQ EMC Test Facility Has UKAS Approval For On-Site Testing
TESEQ (formerly Schaffner Test Systems), the advanced EMC test solutions supplier, has consolidated all of its EMC calibration and repair services in a single new facility at Wokingham. Teseq have installed a new screened room antenna calibration facility and carried out a full refurbishment of their original one. TESEQ no longer use an OATS site for antenna calibration, a change in methodology made possible by having over 20 years of experience and historic test data. Customers will find indoor testing more convenient and efficient as it offers all weather operation, reducing test times and cost.
