A new MTS magnetostrictive sensor marketed by RDP electronics Ltd offers the opportunity to capture highly accurate positioning measurement data in hazardous areas.
The new ‘IS Series’ is an absolute position sensor, which can be used in conjunction with corresponding certified safety barriers in hazardous areas classified as ATEX Zone 0 or Zone 1 (subject to correct installation). Based on the magnetostrictive contactless measurement principle they are rugged, durable and wear-free. Standard analogue DC voltage or current outputs are available. The IS Series provides displacement measurement range from 50 to 2,500 mm and is available in two standard formats with the option of in-cylinder or profile.
