Innovative design gives Omron slide DIP switch enhanced reliability
Omron Electronic Components B.V. newly released slide DIP switch uses innovative mechanical design to give more reliable switch operation. The new Omron A6SN features high pressure, knife-edge internal mechanics, ensuring more reliable and consistent contact operation. This design enables any solder flux residues to be broken during the operation of the switch actuator. The switch also uses a temperature resistant resin that enables reflow soldering at peak temperatures of up to 260°C, which is higher than most comparable alternatives.

Camdenboss adds heavy duty guarded footswitch to range of control products
CamdenBoss has extended its family of control products with the addition of a new heavy duty guarded footswitch. Competitively priced, the new industrial die-cast footswitch is ideal for use in all heavy duty applications and provides a choice of single- or double-pole snap action or slow action contact blocks with normally open or normally closed contacts. A combined snap/slow action double pole version is also available. C&K Components, has developed a reliable, high-performance miniature snap-acting switch for price-sensitive applications. ALPS ELECTRIC has developed the SDDH Series waterproof switch, which is compatible with weak to medium currents. Mass production commences in August 2011. Switches used in control elements, such as starters or stop lamp on/off switching, of motorbikes, buggies, other sports mobiles, and agricultural equipment require high water resistance so they can be used in the rain or immersed in water. Demand for switches compatible with weak through to medium currents is also on the rise due to increasing use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for items like stop lamps on motorbikes.
