High-output lab power supply 'flexes' between 60 V and 50 A
The new QPX1200 laboratory DC power supply from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) is a 1.2 kW unit featuring PowerFlex regulation. This enables it to offer voltage and current combinations between 60 V/20 A and 20 V/50 A, making it suitable for a very wide range of applications. The QPX1200 includes a linear output stage within its PowerFlex regulator. This gives it a very low output noise of less than 3 mV RMS, and a transient recovery time typically ten times better than that of conventional switch-mode units.

480W DIN rail power supply offers single and three phase input
XP Power has announced the latest addition to the DNR range of DIN rail mounted, industrial AC/DC power supplies. The DNR480, a single output 480 watt model, offers universal input, accepting voltages in the range 90 – 264 VAC single phase without the need for switch selection, or 340 – 575 VAC three phase, depending on model. Both 24 and 48 VDC output variants have adjustable outputs from 22.5 to 28.5 VDC for the 24 volt model and 47.0 to 56.0 VDC for the 48 volt model. Such broad range of adjustment allows the use of the power supply in different configurations. For applications requiring increased power, up to three units may be connected in parallel.

Linear Technology has introduced the LTC4096/X standalone dual-input linear battery chargers. These devices charge single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer batteries from wall adapter or USB power sources. The LTC4096/X use a constant-current/constant-voltage algorithm for charging, with programmable charge current up to 1.2A from a wall adapter supply or up to 1A from a USB supply while automatically sensing the presence of voltage at each input. Applications include PDAs, MP3 players, digital cameras, lightweight portable medical and test equipment and large color screen cell phones.

Vicor has introduced a high power (>1100 W/in3) 320W PRM non-isolated regulator. Designated P045F048T32AL, this latest V•I Chip component is designed for high-performance 48V power applications such as servers, telecom and ATE. It provides a controlled Factorized Bus distribution voltage for powering downstream VTM current multipliers, creating fast, efficient, isolated, low-noise Point-of-Load (POL) converters. With an efficiency of 97% and matched with a 94% VTM unit, it enables direct 48 V-to-load with 91% efficiency, eliminating the need for an intermediate 12 V bus conversion stage and VRMs.
20kW high voltage power supplies from HiTek
HiTek Power has added the OL20K 20kW family to its range of high voltage power supplies, offering output voltages from 60kV to 200kV and beyond. The eight members of this family have been built to meet the requirements of ion beam and electron beam systems.
