Power-One has announced the introduction of the Guardian Series of DC power systems. These 48V solutions are available in shelf, rack, and cabinet configurations. Power densities exceeding 27 watts per cubic inch, or 25kW per one rack unit, maximize the system space dedicated to revenue-generating equipment, and/or batteries, in fixed and mobile network applications.

SL Power packs 200W into small form factor and achieves 13W/in³ power density
Leading power supply manufacturer, SL Power Electronics Corp, has announced what the company claims to be the industry's smallest commercial 200W power supply and almost certainly the smallest medically rated 200W power supply available. Units in the GNT200 Series feature a power density of from 10 to13W/in³. "These are bold claims," says Nigel Davies, SL Power's European Managing Director, "But three years ago, it was only just possible to achieve around 100W from a 127 x 76 x 30mm (5 x 3 x 1.16in) form factor. The new GNT200 Series can give 240W peak power for up to 1 minute from the same package"

SynQor Converters Now Available Via PowerSupplyShop Web Site
Following its appointment as an authorised distributor for SynQor, the PowerSupplyShop has now made their products available online from their redesigned website. SynQor have an established reputation as innovators in the DC/DC Converters world and were among the first to employ synchronous rectification to achieve very high efficiencies. The resultant low heat output has allowed SynQor to eliminate the need for potting their products and having to employ baseplates or heatsinks, reducing size and cost.

Power-One has announced that it has agreed to a license transfer from C&D Technologies, Inc. to Murata Manufacturing Company. The transfer of the license had been requested by Murata, as part of Murata's purchase of C&D's Power Electronics Division (PED). The sale was completed on August 31, 2007.
Active filter protects dc-dc converters to MIL-STD 1275A-D without any additional components
XP Power announces availability of its new 500W active filter unit for use in harsh electrical environments. The DSF500 is designed to protect dc-dc converters from the surges, spikes and ripples that are typically found on the electrical system of any military platform, such as an aircraft or vehicle. The filter meets the military specification, MIL-STD 1275A-D, without the need to incorporate any additional components. Platform mounted systems can utilize standard industrial dc-dc converters without the risk of failure or damage due to supply transients and noise. Input voltage is within the range 10 – 34 VDC. Output voltage is tracked and clamped to below 36 VDC.

Inverter said to have the Highest-Efficiency of any on California's Energy Commission Eligible-List
Power-One has announced that the California Energy Commission (CEC) has added the Aurora PVI-5000 and PVI-6000 Series to its list of Eligible Inverters, facilitating rebates of up to $2.50 per watt of solar-system capability. These inverters are the highest efficiency products included on the CEC list of eligible inverters, 96% and 96.5% for 208VAC and 240/277VAC output configurations, respectively.
N2Power Expands Agreement with Nu Horizons Electronics
