The LTC3631 utilizes internal synchronous rectification and a programmable peak current mode design to optimize efficiency in lower current applications. A new series of power transistors from STMicroelectronics reduces the environmental impact of daily-use equipment such as home appliances, HVAC systems, and industrial machines by minimizing the two major sources of energy loss in motor-control circuits. The STGW30N120KD and the STGW40N120KD are Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) that have low energy loss when conducting, like an ordinary IGBT, and also reduce losses while switching.
TI - 800-mA, 30V linear battery chargers with automatic USB detection
Texas Instruments has introduced two families of 800-mA USB battery chargers with automatic USB detection for single-cell, lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery-powered electronics. The bq2404x and bq2405x battery charger integrated circuits have a high input-voltage range of up to 30 V, and 6.6-V overvoltage protection to support handheld devices, from entry-level feature phones to smartphones, and other low-power handheld devices, that may use low-cost adapters.

Texas Instruments has introduced a family of 200-mA, low dropout regulators (LDOs), which offer an auto low-power mode that combines ultra-low quiescent current of less than 8 uA with fast transient response while maintaining low noise and a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR). With 70 percent lower quiescent current than existing solutions, the new LDOs help increase battery runtime without sacrificing performance in noise-sensitive applications, such as smart phones, MP3 players, RF modules, remote controls, ZigBee network systems and handheld consumer devices.

Low-Noise GaAs HEMT for 12 – 20GHz range
Mitsubishi has introduced the MGF4921AM, a low noise GaAs HEMT (High Electron Mobility Transistor) that is highly suitable for low noise amplifiers in satellite digital radio receivers as well as in DBS (direct broadcast satellite) receivers operating in the C band. The new device works from S to C bands with a typical noise figure of just 0.35dB at 2.4 or 4GHz, which is at the leading edge of the industry. At 2.4GHz it provides a gain of 18.0dB.

Single-Phase Step Down Controller for NVIDIA GPUs
Maxim has introduced the MAX17409, a single-phase step-down controller for powering NVIDIA GPUs. Its active voltage positioning dynamically lowers the output voltage in response to the load current, reducing output capacitance requirements and power dissipation. The load current is sensed at the MAX17409's output to minimize noise sensitivity, and can be sensed using a current-sense resistor or the DC resistance of the inductor.

Analog Devices has expanded its portfolio of supervisory ICs with new microprocessor supervisory circuits for monitoring under-voltage conditions in handheld industrial instruments, telecommunications devices, and other portable applications. Linear Regulator with Reset for Always-On Automotive Applications
Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX16910, an ultra-low quiescent current, high-voltage linear regulator with a reset output. This 200mA linear regulator consumes only 20microamps (typ) of quiescent current to conserve battery life in always-on automotive applications. Designed for automotive environments using Maxim's robust BiCMOS process, the MAX16910 is capable of operating from a wide, 3.5V to 30V input-voltage range to withstand cold-crank and double-battery conditions; it can also operate during load-dump conditions up to 45V. Additionally, the integrated open-drain reset output with adjustable delay eliminates the need for an external reset IC. Thus, the MAX16910 is ideal for always-on automotive applications in which small solution size and power efficiency are critical.

Vishay has expanded its family of n-channel TrenchFET power MOSFETs in the thermally enhanced PowerPAK SC-75 package to offer a VDS range from 8 V to 30 V. The NRV3012 claims the industry's best DC bias characteristics of any power inductor in its size class.
