Toshiba Introduces Low RDS (ON) P-ch MOSFETs for Mobile Devices
Toshiba America Electronic Components has announced the addition of three new high current P-ch MOSFETs: the SSM6J505NU, SSM6J501NU and SSM6J503NU. Supporting high currents for high power dissipation packages, the new MOSFETs make ideal charging switches for smartphones and other mobile devices with high current charging circuits.
Vishay Intertechnology Expands Its 650 V N-Channel Power MOSFET Series With 23 New Devices
Vishay Intertechnology today added additional 650 V power MOSFETs to its E Series family of devices. These 22 new devices in eight different packages offer an extended on-resistance range from 30 mΩ to 600 mΩ at 10 V and broaden the series' maximum current ratings from 6 A to 105 A.
New Compact 6.5 kV IGBT-driver Cores From CONCEPT Feature Reduced Component Count for High Reliability
CT-Concept Technologie has launched the 1SC0450V, a compact and robust single-channel gate-drive solution for 6.5 kV IGBT modules. The driver is able to support the operation of up to four IGBT modules in parallel, and the use of CONCEPT's proprietary SCALE-2 ASIC technology results in a significantly lower component count compared to a discrete solution.
Power Integrations Introduces Highly Integrated PFC IC for Compact Consumer Products and PCs
Power Integrations today introduced HiperPFS-2, a new family of high-efficiency, active-PFC ICs for offline applications from 100 W to 380 W. HiperPFS-2 ICs combine a boost PFC controller, driver, PFC MOSFET, PFC diode and protection circuits in one package, enabling exceptionally compact designs ideal for small-form-factor power supplies as used in mini-tower PCs, all-in-one PCs, game console adapters and TVs.
Linear Technology Announces The LTC4417 PowerPath Controller
Linear Technology has introduced the LTC4417, a triple-supply prioritized PowerPath controller for 2.5V to 36V systems. The controller selects the highest priority valid supply among three inputs to power the load. Priority is defined by pin assignment, while a supply is considered valid after it has been inside a voltage window set by 1.5% accurate undervoltage and overvoltage thresholds for 256ms.
New TO-Leadless Package For High Current Applications Up To 300A

PCIM Europe: 40V automotive MOSFETs With Benchmark on-State Resistance
International Rectifier has strengthened its family of automotive-qualified COOLiRFET MOSFETs with the addition of 22 new devices in differing packages. The devices deliver benchmark on-state resistance (Rds(on)) for heavy load applications including electric power steering (EPS), braking systems and other heavy loads on internal combustion engine (ICE) and micro hybrid vehicle platforms.

Cree has introduced the industry's first commercially available silicon carbide (SiC) six-pack power module in an industry standard 45mm package. When replacing a silicon module with equivalent ratings, Cree's six-pack module can reduce power losses by 75 percent, which leads to an immediate 70 percent reduction in the size of the heat sink or a 50 percent increase in power density.

CUI Announce Non-Isolated 500 mA DC Switching Regulators
CUI reveal its 2nd generation non-isolated DC switching regulator series rated at 500 mA. The company's new P7805-S series implements several upgrades, including an increased power density, efficiency improvements and a decrease in ripple and noise, all at a lower per unit cost. The series delivers efficiencies over 96% and is able to maintain a high efficiency rating across the full input range; still providing up to 95% efficiency at a highline input of 32 Vdc.

PCIM Europe: Cymbet Chips Pass Biocompatibility Tests
Cymbet used the PCIM Europe show to reveal the successful results of in vivo biocompatibility feasibility studies that were conducted to evaluate the biological safety of the EnerChi Rechargeable Solid State Battery. EnerChip bare die batteries were crushed and combined into a saline solution which was introduced into an in vivo test setting. No ill effects were recorded nor were any test article related lesions observed in this study.
92% Efficient 100mA Synchronous Buck Converter From Linear
Linear introduce a 150V input-capable synchronous buck converter that delivers up to 100mA of continuous output current. The LTC3639 operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 150V, eliminating the need for an external transient suspension device. The LTC3639 utilizes internal synchronous rectification and a programmable peak current-mode design to optimize efficiency over a broad range of output currents.

Advanced Power Electronics announced three new high voltage MOSFETs – AP11S60-HF-3, AP14S50-HF-3 and AP20S60-HF-3 – that offer improved on-resistance and gate charge to provide low conduction and switching losses, making switching applications more efficient. Linear Technology have today announced the launch of a new 1mV output ripple µModule regulator. The 5A LTM8028 is designed to power data converters and high speed transceivers. The low output ripple minimizes random jitter in high speed data transceivers for superior bit error rate performance. When powering an ADC, tests showed a 13dB improvement in spurious free dynamic range with the LTM8028 compared to a typical step-down regulator.
