The ACSL-7210 from Avago Technologies is a dual-channel bi-directional 25MBd digital optocoupler optimised for bi-directional industrial communication networks using high speed protocols such as PROFIBUS fieldbus and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). It uses Avago's proprietary CMOS IC and patented packaging technologies to achieve high isolation voltage of 3750 VRMS in a <2mm low profile narrow-body SOIC-8 package.

LSC-035 – Operation of Blue, Red, and NIR Laser Diodes
The inexpensive LSC-035 driver was developed for N type cw laser diodes with a maximum operating current of 300mA. The wide-ranging supply voltage of up to 15V allows the operation of blue, red, and NIR laser diodes. A protective circuit shields the laser diodes from damage resulting from ESD, high temperatures, and current peaks. It safely filters out the transient characteristics of the supply voltage.

Hamamatsu Photonics introduce a new RGB colour sensor Photo IC, the S11059-01WT. The new device features I2C compatibility and uses a small and highly reliable WL-CSP (Wafer Level – Chip Size Package). To ensure low power consumption this sensor includes an auto-sleep function that automatically switches the detector to standby after a detection event. Another attractive feature of these devices is the ability to use lead-free reflow soldering, which improves the cost and speed of the manufacturing process.

Hamamatsu Photonics introduced the new C11208 MPPC module which integrates the S11028 series MPPC, a pixelated silicon avalanche photodiode operated in Geiger-mode, with the addition of a high performance thermoelectric cooler. Along with the TE cooled MPPC, the module houses a current-to-voltage converter, high speed comparator, high voltage power supply circuit, temperature control and counting circuits as well as a micro controller.

Hamamatsu Photonics introduced a back illuminated 16 channel photodiode array (PDA), designed for use in X-ray non-destructive testing applications. The S11212 uses flip-chip technology that allows the PDA to receive scintillation light from the back side of the array. This flip-chip approach reduces the need for gold bond wires and junction layers on the light input side, vastly reducing the risk of wire bond damage during scintillator mounting.

Hamamatsu Photonics introduce the new C9405CB spectrometer. This new TM spectrometer module utilises a transmission grating and a new ultra high sensitivity IR Enhanced CCD developed by Hamamatsu. By utilising Hamamatsu's unique technology in laser processing, it is possible to form a MEMS structure on the back side of the CCD, which results in a greatly increased sensitivity at wavelengths longer than 800 nm. The CCD within the C9405CB features a quantum efficiency of 40% at 1000nm, without the need for a deep depletion structure, with its corresponding drawback of higher dark signal.
