Intel and Samsung Forecast to Represent 42% of Semiconductor Capital Spending in 2013
IC Insights' soon-to-be-released March Update to The 2013 McClean Report lists the forecasted 2013 top-25 semiconductor capital spenders with a preview of the top-10 spenders listed in Figure 1. First Highly Automated Production Plant For Lithium Rechargeable Battery Packs
BMZ will start construction of Europe's first highly automated rechargeable battery production plant at the company's headquarters in Karlstein near Aschaffenburg. It will be possible to almost fully automatically assemble, weld and test up to 200,000 rechargeable batteries to individual customer requirements annually in the 800 m² of the large new production facility's first expansion stage, which is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2014. The investment costs are estimated to be around 5 million Euros.
SKIDATA Presents Supplier Performance Award To Kontron

The award is being presented by SKIDATA for the first time and is in recognition of a vendor's continuing high quality in products and service as well as in product availability. Since 2006, the fabless company SKIDATA has been purchasing paying machines for parking tickets. These are not only assembled at Kontron, the embedded computer technology is also designed by Kontron.
SynQor Prevails in Appeal of Patent Litigation
In a unanimous decision authored by Chief Judge Rader, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington D.C. affirmed the decision of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and upheld a $95M jury verdict previously won by SynQor, as well as the Court's additional award of supplemental damages and sanctions.
Agilent Technologies' EEsof YouTube Channel Passes Half-Million View Mark
