NXP Announces First-Ever Best Supplier Awards
NXP Semiconductors N.V. presented its first-ever Best Supplier Awards at the company's Supplier Day on September 1, 2011. The event drew participation from NXP's global supply base with over 90 suppliers across 17 countries represented. Suppliers from equipment, materials, external manufacturing and indirect spend areas participated in the event, which was hosted by NXP's chief executive officer and members of the NXP management team.

RASIRC Relocates to Larger Facility - Company doubles manufacturing and development space
RASIRC announced today that it has relocated its global operations to a significantly larger facility. The new 19,500 square foot space includes a class 1,000 cleanroom for manufacturing products for the photovoltaic industry. RASIRC products deliver ultra-pure water vapor for semiconductor, photovoltaics, nanotechnology, and other manufacturing applications.
IPC Releases PCB Industry Results For July 2011
IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries has announced the July findings from its monthly North American Printed Circuit Board Statistical Program. PCB Industry Growth Rates and Book-to-Bill Ratios Announced. Rigid PCB shipments were down 10.2 percent and bookings were down 17.0 percent in July 2011 from July 2010. Year to date, rigid PCB shipments increased 2.3 percent and bookings declined 10.0 percent. Compared to the previous month, rigid PCB shipments decreased 24.8 percent and rigid bookings decreased 19.0 percent. The book-to-bill ratio for the North American rigid PCB industry in July 2011 remained near parity at 0.99.

Professional audio equipment world leaders AMS Neve are celebrating box office success after their technology was used on the latest Harry Potter blockbuster. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 had its score recorded at Abbey Road on a Neve 88RS analogue console by Peter Cobbin, and mixed on the DFC Gemini by Peter Cobbin and Sam Okell. Post-production was completed on the 1,000 signal path DFC Gemini by Mike Dowson, Stuart Hilliker, and Adam Scrivener during an intensive six-week mixing process at De Lane Lea in London.
