Celsum's Inline Housing Lets Loadcells Communicate

Celsum Technologies has added the new ILE Inline Converter Housing to its range of products related to strain gauge based sensors.

The ILE is a compact, robust, precision-engineered, stainless steel, EMC-shielded housing that will accept either an InCell analogue strain gauge conditioning amplifier or a DCell digital converter to provide a choice of analogue or digital outputs. With the InCell range, outputs of 0-10V, ±10V, 0-5V and 4-20mA are available, whilst, with the DCell range, direct connection of the loadcell or other strain gauge device to a computer or PLC may be achieved via RS485, CAN, CANOpen, and MODBUS buses. The DCell offers resolution of up to 1 in 400,000 and data rates of up to 500Hz, and includes programmable linearisation tables and built-in calibration.

The ILE is sealed to IP67, is only 28mm in diameter and 56mm long (excluding cable glands). The InCell or DCell conditioning amplifiers are connected via solder pads.
