Wibu-Systems broadens range of its CodeMeter industrial IT protection

This year at the Embedded Systems Show in Farnborough, Wibu-Systems unveiled two new form factors of its award winning CodeMeter platform. Wibu-Systems AG has been closely cooperating with three other German companies and a research institute in the "Pro-Protect" project. The aim of the project was to research effective methods of protecting production machinery against piracy, duplication and industrial espionage.

As result of this cooperation Wibu-Systems has incorporated two new form factors to its product line that extends the CodeMeter’s usability in industrial environments.

As of now, the CodeMeter technology for software licensing and software protection is readily available in the following form factors: USB, PC Card, ExpressCard, SD Card and CompactFlash Card. A microSD form factor will be available later in the year. Furthermore, Wibu-Systems has a comprehensive software only licensing system called CodeMeterAct, which is activation based and can easily be integrated with an eCommerce or ERP system of vendors’ choice for management and safe distribution of digital content on the Internet.
