INSYS MICROELECTRONICS's MoRoS line of industrial routers which combine the functions of a modem, router and 4-port switch in one compact DIN rail housing are now available as new, revised 2.1 models. The PRO functions, such as increased security through VPN and a firewall, are now included in the standard version.

New industrial router generation with extended featuresThe units support the IPsec pro-tocol and OpenVPN. The VPN functionality enables the devices to establish secure, confidential connections between company networks, single computers or Ethernet-capable components. At no additional cost, MoRoS GPRS now supports the faster EDGE standard for data rates of up to 236 kB/s in GSM mobile radio networks. Another important new feature for all MoRoS models is the integrated “sandbox”, a special Linux runtime environment which allows users to execute their own, custom-tailored applications and scripts directly on the device. This enables the im-plementation of data logger and protocol converter functions or dynamic configurations and data evaluation.
