1.5 to 3.8 GHz Active Upconverting Mixer from Linear TechnologyA high dynamic range active upconverting mixer from Linear Technology replaces the best of today's passive mixers. The LT5579's wide frequency range of 1.5GHz to 3.8GHz covers the 1.9GHz cellular bands as well as the 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz WiMAX frequency bands. At 2.14GHz, the device offers 27.3dBm Output IP3 linearity and 9.9dB Noise Figure to deliver outstanding transmitter dynamic range. Moreover, the mixer has 2.6dB of conversion gain, the highest in its class. The device integrates Local Oscillator (LO) buffers, requiring only -1dBm to drive the LO port, while offering low -35dBm LO-to-RF leakage.
Temperature-compensated crystal oscillators are down in size but not in performanceJust announced by Vectron International is a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator in a package just half the size of its predecessor. The VTM3 TCXO offers equivalent phase noise performance to the proven VTC4 and VTC1 TCXOs but in a smaller package measuring just 3.2mm x 2.5mm.
Single Input/Output Any-Rate Clock Multiplier from Silicon LaboratoriesSilicon Laboratories has announced the expansion of its portfolio of reconfigurable, frequency-agile precision clocks to include a single input, single output jitter-attenuating clock multiplier IC. XOs And VCXOs With Any-Rate Frequency SynthesisSilicon Laboratories has announced the Si570/1 family, said to be the industry's first user-programmable crystal oscillators (XO) and voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO) supporting any-rate frequency synthesis. Using patented DSPLL technology and an industry-standard I2C interface, a single device can generate any output frequency from 10 MHz to 1.4 GHz at jitter levels of 0.3 picoseconds rms. Designed and built in Germany by multinational market leader, Vectron International, the C4700 and C4550 crystal oscillators are compact in size and competitive in price. The C4700 is an ultra high stability double oven controlled crystal oscillator (DOCXO) with a reduced profile of just 17mm, making it the lowest profile DOCXO on the market.
High-Frequency Inductors for matching-circuit applicationsTAIYO YUDEN has announced the availability of its AQ105 series of high-frequency inductors for matching-circuit applications in cell phones, notebook PCs and other wireless-enabled computer and communications devices. AQ105 series inductors employ a proprietary simulation technique that optimally characterizes the device's structural attributes to produce a typical Q value improvement of 100% or higher, compared to the company's earlier, industry-leading HK series inductors. At a measuring frequency of 0.8GHz, for example, the AQ105-2N2 device achieves a typical Q value of 67 versus 31 for the HK1005-2N2 series device with similar physical and electrical characteristics. At 1.8GHz, the same AQ series part provides a Q value of 101.
