Durable Single Fiber Fusion Splicer

News Release from: GAO FiberOptics Inc
27 January 2011

GAO Fiber Optics is offering its single fiber fusion splicer. The durable single fiber fusion splicer is used to splice dispersion shifted, non-zero dispersion shifted, and erbium doped fibers.

Durable Single Fiber Fusion SplicerThe programmable fiber fusion splicer, model 730, features simultaneous X and Y views and digital color display. As well it checks the fiber end face and calibrates parameters automatically. This fusion splicer’s mechanical splices typically have only a 0.1dB to 0.3dB loss. It automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using its built-in temperature, humidity and pressure sensors to provide constant feedback control to regulate the fusion arc temperature. This insures uniform quality splicing over a wide range of atmospheric condition. Additionally, the splicer is able to store 8000 groups of splice results.
